Vibrant, multicultural, and dynamic is the given definition to The University of Johannesburg according to university’s website. It also states that the vision of the university is to be: “an international university of choice anchored in Africa, dynamically shaping the future”. The vision follows four main values: imagination, conversation, regeneration and ethical foundation. By mentioning this, The UJ is actually the largest contact university in South Africa with 50 000 student’s population of which 3000 are international students from 80 countries.
The University of Johannesburg placed in position 92nd for performing best on SDG 8 (Decent Work Opportunities and Economic Growth), and for ranking fourth on its performance on SDG 1 (No Poverty). The university takes the position 92nd in terms of Top 100 worldwide, which places it as The Top One in Africa according to the “University Impact Rankings 2021”
