How is it like to be continuously active and have so much to do at once?
Fethi: Okay, so how is it like to be continuously active and have so much to do at once. It all started back in 2017. I was let’s say; in not a very positive environment , and I was coming out of like a really long year where I had a lot of pressure , a lot of stress and that was one of the worst years of my life because of that stress, and especially exams , evaluations , and so on. That summer I wanted to do something outside of the box. I wanted to do something that I have never tried. Therefore, for me, back then, this was to learn a new language, and I was super interested and excited about learning Spanish. One of my friends that I am forever grateful for sent me a link; to join this summer school where they’re going to teach Spanish, and I applied , I got accepted, and then boom my life changed.
Back then, I was like a simple student, when I joined that summer school I found people managing that project, and they were people like me, they were people coming from the same background, some of them doing the same studies as me, and they were organizing this amazing project. That summer for me was the best summer of my whole life. Therefore, I started wondering how they can do that while I was complaining about having a very bad year! Why do they do that? Why don’t they just stick to their studies! I could figure out that I do not want to be as I was anymore! I wanted to become like them. So, from that year, from the end of 2017 I applied for aiesec, I applied for American Corner, and from there it just started, and doors were open for me.
After not finding the opportunities in my society, or not finding those opportunities, because of the lack of promotion for it. Now I am able to create such opportunities for the Algerian youth, and future leaders, if not create them, then at least promote for them. This makes me an element of the change that I always wanted to see.

Comment cela se passe-t-il d’être continuellement actif et d’avoir tant à faire en même temps ?
Fethi : D’accord, alors comment est-ce d’être continuellement actif et d’avoir tant à faire en même temps. Tout a commencé en 2017. Je n’étais pas dans un environnement très positif, et j’étais sorti d’une très longue année où j’avais beaucoup de pression, beaucoup de stress et c’était l’une des pires années de ma vie à cause de ce stress, et surtout des examens, des évaluations, et ainsi de suite. Cet été – là, je voulais faire quelque chose en dehors de ma zone de confort. Je voulais faire quelque chose que je n’ai jamais essayé. Par conséquent, pour moi, à l’époque, cela c’était apprendre une nouvelle langue, et j’étais super intéressé et excité à l’idée d’apprendre l’espagnol. Un de mes amis pour qui je suis éternellement reconnaissant m’a envoyé un lien pour rejoindre cette école d’été où ils vont enseigner l’espagnol, et j’ai postulé, J’ai été accepté, et puis boom ma vie a changé.
À l’époque, j’étais comme un simple étudiant, quand je me suis joint à cette école d’été, j’ai trouvé des gens qui géraient ce projet, et ils étaient des gens comme moi, ils venaient du même milieu, certains faisaient les mêmes études que moi, et ils organisaient ce projet incroyable. Cet été a été pour moi le meilleur de toute ma vie. Par conséquent, j’ai commencé à me demander comment ils pouvaient le faire pendant que je me plaignais d’avoir une très mauvaise année ! Pourquoi font-ils cela ? Pourquoi ne s’en tiennent-ils pas à leurs études ! J’ai constaté que je ne veux plus être comme j’étais ! Je voulais devenir comme eux. Donc, à partir de cette année-là, à partir de la fin de 2017, j’ai postulé pour aiesec, j’ai postulé pour American Corner, et à partir de là ça a commencé, et les portes s’est ouvert pour moi.
Après ne pas avoir trouvé des opportunités dans ma société, par ma faute ou à cause de l’absence de promotion. Maintenant, je suis capable de créer de telles opportunités pour la jeunesse algérienne, et les futurs leaders, ou plus au moins promouvoir les opportunités . Cela fait de moi un élément du changement que je voulais toujours voir.
