Fethi: I was telling myself that this is what I need, not to overthink, and to just go for it. It was hard at first to be in like a medical field studies, and do something besides that. It was not easy. It came with time that I loved what I was doing and it actually helped me grow, and perform better in my studies. I was a normal student, but then I started to learn many tricks, hacks, and many management skills that Dentistry School did not and will not teach you. However, the extra activities that I did back then and I still do till now are the ones that made me a better student and a better doctor. Therefore, it certainly did not affect my grades at all. At the opposite, it made me grow even better. I became the kind of students who was going to lectures in the morning, and have practical work in the afternoon, and then I was doing aiesec job in the evening. I also managed to teach and volunteer in the weekends or in some weekdays. I ended up being in top best students of my class at a 6 years evaluation. Many mates of mine we both started from the same place, but now we are at very different places, this not to underestimate their choice to fully commit to studies. I totally respect that, but this was no more my perspective at a certain point because as a student you are kind of a manager, you need to manage your time, you need to learn how to study, how to organize yourself, how to pass your exams, and to sum up you will have to do a constant management. As I already mentioned schools and universities does not teach you this kind of things. I personally learned and acquired the time management skill and this is how I’ am keeping up the spirit. So, no my commitments would never be considered as a negative part in my life.
